We’re delighted to share the news that Greenhouse will soon be moving into the Church of England’s Lay Ministries team, where plans are already underway for the next three years of its development.
Many of you will know that the original SDF funding for Greenhouse was extended because of the pandemic, and was due to come to an end this May. So the move into Lay Ministries is wonderful news, and a testament to all the hard work that you and your teams have put into Greenhouse. We’d like to say a huge thank you for your commitment and for making Greenhouse what it is.
Developing lay leadership has always been core to Greenhouse, and building confidence for lay people within flourishing lay:clergy ministry teams is vitally important to Lay Ministries and the wider Ministry Development Team.
There may be some changes in the future, both to the shape of the current national team, and to the way in which Greenhouse is carried forward in this exciting new chapter of its growth and development. You’ll be kept in touch with any news along the way as we transition.
You may have some questions, and there’ll be time to ask these at the next Facilitators’ Gathering, scheduled for May 14th, 10am-12noon. You’ll be introduced to the Head of Lay Ministries, Carrie Myers, (and in case you were wondering, she’s no relation to our lovely Project Manager, Cathy Myers)!
