Meet the team

The Greenhouse team is available for the growing number of Greenhouse facilitators and teams who are pioneering new ways of being Church just where they are.

Contact us for anything you need, to ask a question, or simply to share with us the story of how your good ideas have turned into missional action! We'd love to hear about what God is doing through your teams.

Here's an introduction to each of us, and how we each support Greenhouse:

Mark Berry

Mark is a Pioneer and a creative with over 25 years experience. His vision is to challenge and equip groups and individuals to step out of their comfort zones and find ways to engage with culture and grow community.  His ministry has always drawn him to people beyond the margins, amongst gangs, the night time community, clubbers, addicts and those in prison. He leads a small new-monastic community in Telford Shropshire. His role within the team is to bring the voice of the Pioneer and to support the development of networks beyond the Church.

Emily Bradbury

Emily is the Greenhouse Facilitation Practitioner and Advisor and supports teams to facilitate their gatherings well so everyone can gain as much as possible from Greenhouse.  She works with Suzie in our pre-calls and debrief calls, helping you prepare and reflect on each of your gatherings and helps facilitate enablers’ gatherings.  She has a background in facilitation, coaching & training and is the Director of a small social enterprise called Courage to Thrive which works to unlock thriving with individuals, teams & communities.  She grew a Fresh Expression for women called Space for Life in Poole where she lives with her husband Paul, a pioneer minister.

Ruth Green

Ruth is a freelance Communications Coordinator and Consultant for Greenhouse. She writes and issues the newsletter and writes/updates Greenhouse’s online and printed resources. She also develops and delivers campaigns for specific initiatives, such as the Fruitfulness Framework. Ruth is a specialist in church and charity communications and has worked with several national Christian charities, Anglican dioceses and departments within the national Church of England since 2007.

Michael Moynagh

Mike is a Church of England priest, associated with Wycliffe Hall, Oxford. For over 20 years he has been advocating, researching and writing about new worshipping communities, and coaching some of those involved. He is a consultant to the Diocese of Oxford’s New Congregations Programme and to the national Greenhouse initiative. In the latter role, he captures and disseminates learning about our experiences of Greenhouse, and is available to dioceses to share wisdom on starting and leading Greenhouses.

Cathy Myers

Cathy has been working for the National Church since 2018, although she has been involved in her local churches for far longer. She was part of the Evangelism and Discipleship Team until she joined the Vision and Strategy Team as Operations Manager in April 2022.

Cathy’s first role was in Life Events, where she enjoyed working with churches at a grass-roots level; listening, resourcing and encouraging. She was also lucky enough to work closely with Tom, Ruth, Dave and sometimes Suzie. (She now gets to work with Emily, Mike and Mark on a regular basis too – which is very good news).

Cathy loves making connections and finding practical solutions, this is something that she brings to her current role as Project Manager for Greenhouse. Her involvement with Greenhouse is roughly one day per week, although she is always glad to talk about fresh expressions on any day.

Tom Pearson

Tom works with the Greenhouse team to consult on and deliver video production, digital resource management, digital presence, and digital aspects of national Greenhouse meetings and events. Tom lives in Derbyshire with his wife, daughter, and cat. Tom has worked with the majority of the dioceses of The Church of England in various capacities, along with Thy Kingdom Come, The Archbishops of York and Canterbury, The Diocesan and Cathedrals Digital Community, and many others. Tom is a registered sign language interpreter and is passionate about accessibility and inclusion.

Suzie Wall

Suzie is the event and learning community adviser and project co-ordinator for FX Greenhouse, and has been part of the team since the very early days of Greenhouse. With over 12 years' experience planning, running and facilitating learning communities Suzie brings this knowledge (and love of learning communities), alongside that of the national team, to help you set up and run your Greenhouses from start to finish, supporting you however needed along the way. Suzie is also the main point of contact for your everyday Greenhouse queries and questions!

Overseeing the Team

Dave Male

Having been involved with Greenhouse from the start, Dave currently oversees the strategic direction of the programme while a permanent programme director is appointed.

Dave is the co-director of the Vision and Strategy Team for the National Church. He is a pioneer who previously was National Pioneer Development Advisor. Before that he was Tutor in Pioneer Mission Training at Ridley Hall and Westcott House from 2006 to 2015. In this role he developed the first Pioneer track in the Church of England and also started the Centre for Pioneer Learning in Cambridge, an organisation he founded to equip, resource and send out lay and ordained pioneers from across the denominations. He was also Fresh Expressions Advisor for Ely Diocese. Dave spent ten years starting and leading the Net Church in Huddersfield which was one of the first fresh expressions of church in the UK. He is the author of “How to Pioneer (even if you haven’t a clue)” and the co-author of “The Word’s Out – strategies for evangelism today”.
